Requirements:

Must be U.S. Citizen.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • CertificationCertified Medical Assistant only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or another formal program as specified in the TO.
  • One year of CMA experience within the last three years

    Duties:

    Core Duties:

    • Prepare examination rooms before the patient's arrival.
    • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
    • Check the patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
    • Obtain and document the patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
    • Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
    • Maintained examination room stock levels and performed routine maintenance of examination rooms.
    • Complete lab and x-ray requisitions by clinic policies.
    • Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when the patient is released.

    Start date: 

    • As soon as possible pending Federal Security Clearance process completion (typically 4-6 weeks after initiation)

    Schedule:

    Duty Hours: The contractor shall provide Certified Medical Assistants. To maintain the continuity of services, the HCWS MUST BE FULL-TIME INDIVIDUALS. The Commanding Officer will not approve more than one individual for each required position. However, part-time personnel may be considered case-by-case after the award. The contractor need not provide backup coverage for the HCW during periods of approved absence that have been coordinated with the Government supervisor. Performance hours are as follows:

    OB/GYN Clinic:

    Services shall be provided Monday through Friday between 0730 to 1630 hours. Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5, including an uncompensated 30-minute lunch break. Occasional services shall be provided on Saturdays between 0700 to 1230 without a lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week period.

    Internal Medicine Department:

    Services shall be provided Monday through Friday between 0700 to 2000 hours. Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5-hour shift, including an uncompensated 30-minute lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week period.

    Ophthalmology/Optometry Clinic:

    Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, and up to one Saturday a month, between 0700 to 1800 hours. Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5-hour shift, including an uncompensated 30 lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week period.

    Family Practice Clinic:

    Services shall be provided Monday through Friday between 0730 to 1700 hours. Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5-hour shift, including an uncompensated 30 lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week period.

    Urgent Care Clinic:

    Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday between 0700 to 0659 hours. Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, or 13-hour shift, including an uncompensated 30 to 60-minute meal break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services over 80 hours per two-week period.

    Ability to commute:

    • Transportation is required and expected for commuting to and from the work site.

    Experience:

    One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.

    License(s) / Certification(s):

    Certification: Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or another formal program as specified in the TO.
