Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  •  Possess and maintain a current certification and registration by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

OR

  •  Be a graduate from a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), OR certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), OR successful completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program (i.e., a technical, hospital, or retail-based program)
 
  • Experience: MINIMUM one year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation.

Duties:

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties, including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties, including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties, including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties, including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, and producing not-in-stock reports.

Start date: 

  • As soon as possible pending Federal Security Clearance process completion (typically 4-6 weeks after initiation)

Schedule:

 Duty Hours:  The contractor shall provide Pharmacy Technicians. To maintain the continuity of services, the HCWS MUST BE FULL-TIME INDIVIDUALS. The Commanding Officer will not approve more than one individual for each of the required positions, however, part-time personnel may be considered on a case-by-case basis after award.  The contractor need not provide backup coverage for the HCW during periods of approved absence that have been coordinated with the Government supervisor. Performance hours are as follows:

 Pharmacy Technicians:  Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday, between the hours of 0600 to 2330 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 to 11-hour period, including an uncompensated 30 to 60-minute lunch break, respectively. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.  The Government anticipates scheduling 30 individual Pharmacy Technicians to work Sunday through Saturday between the hours of 0600 and 1800 and 10 individual Pharmacy Technicians to work Sunday through Saturday between the hours of 1100 and 2330.  For weekend service, the Government anticipates scheduling 10 Pharmacy Technicians to work every weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday). 


Ability to commute:

  • Candidate is required to have reliable and safe transportation and is expected to commute to and from the work site.
